Projet de dépanneur avec vente d’essence à Châteauguay

(English follows) Le conseil de Ville de Châteauguay a amorcé le processus de modification au règlement de zonage dans le secteur du boulevard René-Lévesque et du Chemin de la Haute-Rivière à sa séance d’octobre. Ce, afin de permettre, sur un terrain situé à cet endroit (à côté de l’immeuble de la Caisse Desjardins), le développement d’un projet de dépanneur avec vente d’essence. Avec cette manœuvre, le conseil espère stimuler le développement commercial du secteur, où un autre projet du genre a déjà été autorisé à l’angle Brisebois et René-Lévesque en mars 2018. «Qui va arriver le premier? Il va y en avoir juste un des deux, ça c’est certain :  les compagnies d’essence ne vont pas se battre rien que sur ça», a exprimé le maire Pierre-Paul Routhier pendant la séance. Le conseil a également adopté une résolution afin qu’une ouverture soit faite dans le terre-plein situé sur le chemin de la Haute-Rivière. Et un accès de type «right-in/right-out» sur le boulevard René-Lévesque, pour offrir un accès au commerce. La modification qui touche le boulevard René-Lévesque (route 132) devra au préalable recevoir l’approbation du ministère des Transports du Québec avant d’être exécutée. Convenience store project with sale of fuel

Chateauguay City Council started the process of modifying the zoning bylaw in the sector of Rene Levesque Blvd. and Chemin de Haute Riviere at its October meeting. This was done in order to permit, on land situated in that area (beside the Caisse Desjardins building), the development of a convenience store project with the sale of gas. With this maneuver, council hopes to stimulate the commercial development of the sector, where another project of that type has already been authorized at the corner of Brisebois and Rene Levesque last March. ‘’Who will arrive first? There will only be one of the two, that is certain : the fuel companies will not fight over anything but that,’’ explained Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier during the meeting. The council also adopted a resolution in order that an opening be made in the median strip situated on Haute Riviere Blvd. And an access of the ‘’right-in/right-out ‘’ type on Rene Levesque Blvd., to offer an access to business. The modification which touches Rene Levesque Blvd. (route 132) will have to receive beforehand the approval of the Quebec Transport Ministry before being carried out. (Translation Dan Rosenburg)
