Ville de Châteauguay confirms that the work to upgrade Industriel Boulevard will resume on Tuesday, May 19 and completion is expected by the end of the year. Work to date This work was not done in 2019 because the City had not received the certificates of authorization in time from the Ministère de l’Environnement et la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, despite the fact that the requests were made in February 2018. Since these certificates were issued only on July 26, 2019, we were unable to finish the work before the fall. Traffic disturbed To allow work to progress rapidly, starting on May 19:
  • Traffic on Industriel Boulevard, between Ford Boulevard and Bélanger, will be one way, similar to 2019, for an indefinite period;
  • Traffic on Industriel Boulevard, between Bélanger and Pascal streets, will be completely closed.
The detour will be by way of Sainte-Marguerite Boulevard, Albert-Einstein Boulevard and Pascal St. Ecocenter users are asked to use the detour to access it. A new four-lane boulevard for better traffic flow, accessible on foot or by bike by a multi-purpose path, a sustainable design and a storm water drainage system are the main attractions of this major renovation. When the project is completed, Châteauguay will be the proud owner of an innovative and sustainable boulevard, ready for new companies in its industrial park.
