La régie Beau-Château finaliste au mérite Ovation municipale

La régie intermunicipale Sports et loisirs Beau-Château a été sélectionnée parmi les 22 projets finalistes de l’édition 2018 du mérite Ovation municipale de l’Union des municipalités du Québec (UMQ). La Régie a été constituée en mai 2016 par les Villes de Beauharnois et de Châteauguay pour développer des infrastructures communes, dont un complexe sportif intérieur et un complexe aquatique extérieur. Le projet a été présenté au Mérite Ovation comme étant «une réponse supralocale aux défis en matière d’infrastructures sportives et récréatives». Les gagnants seront dévoilés dans le cadre des assises annuelles de l’UMQ, le 18 mai. «Le mérite Ovation municipale souligne de façon toute particulière, depuis 2005, le fruit du travail de municipalités qui ont mis de l’avant des solutions originales pour répondre de façon optimale aux besoins de leur communauté», indique l’UMQ dans un communiqué.

Beau-Chateau board a finalist for Ovation merit

The Beau-Chateau Intermunicipal Sports and Recreation Board has been selected among 22 finalist projects for the 2018 edition of the Quebec Union of Municipalities (UMQ). The board was formed in May of 2016 by the cities of Beauharnois and Chateauguay to develop some common infrastructures, including an indoor sports complex and an outdoor aquatic complex. The project was presented to the Ovation Merit group as being ‘’a super local answer to the challenges in the matter of sports and recreation infrastructures.’’ The winners will be announced in the framework of the UMQ’s annual meeting on May 18. ‘’Since 2005 the municipal Ovation Merit emphasizes, in a very special way, the fruit of the work of municipalities which put forward original solutions to reply in the best manner to the needs of their communities,’’ the UMQ indicates in a press release.
