The last night of the month of May will be sleepless in a burst of solidarity against cancer at the Citizens' Square on Maple Blvd. in Chateauguay.

Hundreds of people are going to walk, some of them will run, fraternize, camp and pay homage to the survivors and victims of the illness beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 until 7 a.m. the next morning. It will be the 13th Chateauguay Relay for Life for the benefit of the Canadian Cancer Society.

« An animated and varied program awaits the participants to keep them wide awake all night, » promise the organizers. A Smoking BBQ kitchen street truck and kiosks from the Boucherie d'Anjou and Smooth Fruit will notably be part of the attractions.

« Visitors will be welcome. They will be welcomed by volunteers who will give them the outline of the event and who will invite them to make a donation. People who are not affected by cancer, from close or from far, are rare : two Canadians out of five will learn that they have cancer during their lifetime, » the Cancer Society informs in a communique.
