After regaining access to its Facebook page, the City of Châteauguay was unable to publish content on its page “temporarily.”

In November 2023, the municipality lost access to its main Facebook page. After several attempts to contact Meta’s customer service department to resolve the problem, Châteauguay created a new page.

In January, the city recovered the original page.

A few days later, the municipality was “stripped of its publishing functionalities, after having submitted a request to merge the two pages in order to retain all of its subscribers,” it stated in a press release.

Its original page was therefore “delisted and has been under review since then,” it added. The city is currently sending “regular reminders” to Meta to be able to publish on its page again.

For the time being, Châteauguay is inviting its residents to subscribe to the MonDossier application to receive urgent information or information about upcoming municipal events.
