Un jeune slameur châteauguois veut populariser «Celyne Dyon»

(English follows) Musicien et poète de langue anglaise, Amilyon Hall, de Châteauguay, a signé avec une agence d’artistes pour propulser son single intitulé Celyne Dyon, qui peut être entendu sur Spotify, YouTube, Appel Music et plusieurs autres applications.
Pourquoi sa composition est titrée ainsi? « Pour moi, l’artiste la plus remarquable du Québec est Céline Dion. Elle est une icône et une inspiration pour tous les artistes aspirants avec une valeur nette de 700 M$! Sur ma couverture artistique, j’y ai inclus quelques images de la ville de Montréal en espérant partager ma fierté de la culture montréalaise. Nommer ma chanson Celyne Dyon est une façon d’exprimer ma fierté », confie-t-il.

Ancien étudiant de l’école secondaire Howard S. Billings, il a présenté son talent aux élèves du programme international de l’établissement scolaire qu’il a déjà fréquenté, le 21 février. Ce qui l’a motivé à vouloir faire connaître sa composition est sa participation à différents concours de slam au Collège Vanier. En 2016, il a gagné le premier prix et en 2017, il s’est classé en troisième position. A-Lyst management est l’agence avec laquelle il s’est allié pour la distribution de sa musique et sa poésie. Cette compagnie a été fondée en 2018 par Alyssa A.K.A Miss B, une artiste de la scène hip-hop. « J’avais vu le potentiel et le talent en Amilyon depuis son tout jeune âge », commente la fondatrice d’A-Lyst management.
Pendant cinq mois, l’étiquette Sizzle Records ayant des bureaux à Montréal, Miami et Los Angeles, donnera de la notoriété à la chanson d’Amylion. Ce label est spécialisé en arrangement sonore pour des artistes internationaux. « Je suis vraiment excité », exprime-t-il.
Amilyon Hall a des racines de l’île de Barbade qui baigne dans la partie est de la mer des Caraïbes. Dans ses créations, il s’inspire de ses lectures portant sur différentes époques de l’histoire des Noirs. Il veut développer son audience avant de monter sur scène.
« Tous mes slams parlent de l’expérience noire. Dans celui que j’ai présenté à Billings, j’ai parlé des stéréotypes. Il y a beaucoup de préjugés. Il y a des gens qui ont une mauvaise perception de moi à cause de ma race. C’était le thème principal de ma présentation », illustre-t-il.

Le jeune âgé de 20 ans a gradué au programme internationnal de l’école secondaire Howard S. Billings, à Châteauguay, de la Commission scolaire New Frontiers en 2015. Ensuite, il a fait des études collégiales en inhalothérapie au Collège Vanier et gradué en 2018. Il a travaillé dans son domaine à l’Hôpital générale juif de Montréal. Pendant son parcours scolaire, il a toujours consacré du temps à la poésie et la musique.
Young Chateauguay ‘’rapper’’ wants to popularize ‘’CelyneDyon’’

English musician and poet Amilyon Hall of Chateauguay has signed with an artists’ agency to promote his single entitled CelyneDyon, that can be heard on Spotify, YouTube, Appel Music and several other applications.
Why is his composition entitled in this manner? ‘’For me, the most outstanding artist in Quebec is Celine Dion. She is an icon and an inspiration for all aspiring artists, with a net value of $700 million! On my artistic cover, I included a few images of the City of Montreal while hoping to share my pride in Montreal culture. To name my song CelyneDyon is a way of expressing my pride,’’ he confides.
A former student of Howard S. Billings High School, on February 21 he displayed his talent to the school’s international program that he used to attend. What motivated him to want to make his composition known is his participation in various Vanier College ‘’slam’’ contests. In 2016 he won first prize and in 2017 he took third place.
A-Lyst management is the agency with which he formed an alliance for the distribution of his music and his poetry. That company was founded in 2018 by Alyssa A.K.A. Miss B, an artist from the hip-hop scene. ‘’I saw the potential and the talent in Amilyon since he was at a young age,’’ remarked the founder of A-Lyst management.
For five months, the Sizzle Records label, having its offices in Montreal, Miami and Los Angeles, will give Amilyon’s song notoriety. This label is a specialist in sound arrangements for international artists. ‘’I am really excited,’’ Hall expresses.
Amilyon Hall has roots on the island of Barbados, situated in the part that bathes in the Carribbean Sea. In his creations, he is inspired by his readings having to do with different periods of the history of Black people. He wants to develop his audience before performing on stage.
‘’All my slams speak of the black experience,’’ he says. ‘’In the one I gave at Billings, I talked about stereotypes. There are lots of prejudices. There are some people who have a bad perception of me because of my race. That was the main theme of my presentation,’’ he illustrates.

Next, he pursued his college studies in respiratory therapy at Vanier College where he graduated in 2018. He then worked in his domain at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. During his scholastic course, he still devoted time to poetry and music.
