Maternelle 4 ans dans 4 écoles anglophones de Châteauguay

(English follows) La Commission scolaire anglophone New Frontiers offrira des classes de maternelle 4 ans dans les quatre écoles de Châteauguay situées sur son territoire dès septembre 2019.
«Nous avions déjà quelques classes de maternelle 4 ans ailleurs (dans le secteur de Howick, Hemmingford et Huntingdon, notamment) sur notre territoire, précise Robert Buttars, directeur général de la Commission scolaire. Mais dès septembre, le programme sera étendu à toutes nos écoles primaires de Châteauguay», ajoute-t-il. Les écoles Centenial Park, Harmony, Mary Gardner et St-Willibrord accueilleront donc leurs premiers élèves de 4 ans à la prochaine rentrée. «Le programme est bilingue, mais ce n’est pas nécessairement 50% français 50% anglais partout, il y des variances d’une école à l’autre» précise M. Les commissions scolaires francophones du territoire ont aussi annoncé, récemment, l’ouverture de nouvelles classes de maternelle 4 ans dans certaines de leurs écoles (deux à Châteauguay, une à Beauharnois) dès septembre.

Centennial Park, Harmony, Mary Gardner and St. Willibrord schools will then welcome their first four-year-old pupils when school reopens after summer vacation. ‘’The program is bilingual, but it is not necessarily 50% French and 50% English everywhere. The French school boards on the territory also announced recently the opening of new four-year-old kindergarten classes in some of their schools (two in Chateauguay, one in Beauharnois) beginning in September.
