The City of Chateauguay is planning the reopening of outdoor rinks for the 2020-2021 season, but the weather is delaying it. “Despite their expertise and good will, our teams are dependent on meteorological conditions”, explains the City in a press release. To ensure all the elements are in place for a good ice surface, there needs to be snow on the ground before watering and the temperature must be under 10 degrees for a few days in a row. “Unfortunately, the recent and upcoming warm weather is delaying the work to prepare the rinks”, adds Chateauguay. Other activities The City recognizes that its citizens wish to participate in outdoor activities in the pandemic context, such as skating. However, until the installations are ready, people are reminded that the Polydium, the multisport Centre, the Sportplex and Héritage Saint-Bernard are offering multiple indoor and outdoor activities, especially during holidays.
